From 1955 to September 1956 RCA Canada issued country 45s on a blue label with silver print. 14 Elvis 45 singles and 5 EPs were issued on this label before RCA Canada stopped differentiating between genres by colour coding labels and switched to a matte charocal label with silver print for all 45 releases.
From September 1956 through to February 1959 RCA Canada issued 45 singles and EPs on a matte black / charcoal label with silver print. Re-pressings and reissues of previous releases were also on this label, including the 14 Elvis singles and 5 EPs that were originally issued on the blue label with silver print.

From February 1959 through to July or August 1964 RCA Canada issued 45 singles on a black label with the RCA Nipper dog and logo in colour and the text in white print. This label design is commonly referred to as the “Dog On Top” (DOT) label or the “Shaded Dog” label. Nineteen singles were originally issued on this label. This is where RCA Canada finally caught up with RCA’s US label design.
During this same time period RCA Canada also issued several releases on the Gold Standard Series. The label design is the same as the standard issue 45 singles from this same time period. The differentiation on the label is the 447 instead of the 47 prefix that appears on standard issue releases.
